Yvonne was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 1989 for services to music and conferred an Honorary Doctorate in Music by the University of Sydney in 1999. She is a Professor of Voice at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama and a vocal coach and voice teacher for the Jette Parker Artists Programme at ROH Covent Garden.
She also has a private teaching studio in London and gives Masterclasses for The Royal Academy of Music, The Samling Institute, The Melba Opera Trust in Melbourne and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
She is Chair of the Australian Music Foundation, who give awards to assist young Australian musicians in their postgraduate studies overseas.
